AgeSA was the first pension company in Turkey to sign the Global Compact (the United Nations Global Principles Convention), the most important worldwide document on Corporate Social Responsibility (January 2006).
Convention, signed also by Aviva plc and Sabancı Holding, lists the commitments of companies to society on 10 basic principles:
Principle 1: The business community must support and respect the declared human rights.
Principle 2: The business community must not be an accomplice in human rights violations.
Principle 3: The business world must support the employees freedom of unionization and collective bargaining.
Principle 4: Forced and compulsory labour must be ended.
Principle 5: All forms of child labour must be ended.
Principle 6: Discrimination in recruitment and job placement must be ended.
Principle 7: The business community must support cautious approaches to environmental problems.
Principle 8: The business community must give support to all activities and organizations that will raise environmental awareness.
Principle 9: The business world must promote the development and spread of environment-friendly technologies.
Principle 10: The business community must fight all types of corruption, including bribery and extortion.
AvivaSA has made a commitment to comply with these principles to Turkey and the world.
